Kerala High Court Official Liquidator Invites Applications for Temporary Engagement of CA, CS and Legal Assistants with 3 Years Experience – Apply by April 4, 2025

The Office of the Official Liquidator, High Court of Kerala, has issued a notice inviting applications from eligible Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, and Law Graduates for the engagement of Young Professionals on a temporary basis.

 

The engagement will be for a tenure of one year, with a monthly consolidated remuneration of ₹45,000, subject to TDS as applicable. The last date for submission of applications is April 4, 2025. Applications, along with bio-data or curriculum vitae and attested copies of qualification and experience certificates, must be submitted via email only to ol-cochin-mca@nic.in.

 

Post Details and Eligibility

 

  1. Chartered Accountant: Must possess a CA qualification and be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), with a minimum of 3 years of practice as a Chartered Accountant or 3 years of job experience.

  2. Company Secretary: Must hold a CS qualification and be a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), with a minimum of 3 years of practice as a Company Secretary or 3 years of job experience.

  3. Legal Assistant: Must have an LLB degree with 3 years of practice as an Advocate or 3 years of experience as a Legal Officer or Legal Assistant.

 

Additional Criteria

  • Maximum age limit is below 35 years as on the last date of application.
  • Candidates should have good communication skills (written and verbal), team management skills, logical reasoning, sense of responsibility, familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of the Companies Act and Rules.
  • Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may also apply.
  • Applications received after April 4, 2025, will not be considered.

 

Application Submission

  • Application must be legible and submitted with bio-data/CV, attested qualification certificate, and experience certificate.
  • Misrepresentation, suppression of facts, or submission of false/forged documents will lead to termination without notice, and any remuneration paid will be recovered.

 

Job Profile

The selected candidates will work under the supervision of the Official Liquidator or any designated Officer. Responsibilities include:

 

  1. Reviewing and preparing briefs of companies in liquidation.
  1. Adjudicating claims of workmen, creditors, and other stakeholders.
  1. Declaring dividends to claimants.
  1. Examining and scrutinizing Statements of Affairs.
  1. Preparing half-yearly statements, updating cash books manually, filing income tax returns, and performing accounting work as assigned.
  1. Performing any other liquidation-related work as directed.
  1. Accompanying officers for court matters and assisting as required.
  1. Preparing draft reports, affidavits, rejoinders, and written statements.
  1. Executing any other tasks as directed by the Officers of the Official Liquidator’s office.

 

Selection Process

 

  1. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed through email to attend a written test and/or interview.
  1. No communication will be made to candidates who are not shortlisted.
  1. Candidates who have previously appeared for screening may reapply.

 

Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Minimum three years post-qualification experience is required.
  1. Maximum age limit is below 35 years as on the last date of application.
  1. Young Professionals shall not engage in private practice during their tenure.
  1. Initial engagement is for one year, extendable up to four years. First three months will be a probation period.
  1. Engagement is full-time. No other assignment or practice is permitted during employment.
  1. Young Professionals shall not provide opinions or advice in any matter adverse to the interests of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, High Court of Kerala, or Official Liquidator.
  1. Attendance is required five days a week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM). Work on other days may be required.
  1. Entitled to 8 days leave per calendar year on a pro-rata basis. No remuneration for absence beyond this, and unavailed leave cannot be carried over.
  1. Appointment is temporary and may be terminated without notice.
  1. Work must be performed as assigned by the Official Liquidator or authorized officers.
  1. Public holidays applicable to the Official Liquidator’s office apply unless instructed otherwise.
  1. Monthly consolidated remuneration is ₹45,000 plus ₹1,000 towards conveyance. Annual increment of ₹5,000 is applicable. Travel and other allowances are payable as per Senior Technical Assistant norms for outstation duties.
  1. Services may be terminated without notice if absent for 2 consecutive days or 3 days in a month without approval, or for unsatisfactory performance or other recorded reasons.
  1. Young Professionals must not disclose information or documents to third parties without prior approval during or after tenure.
  1. Official Liquidator may introduce additional service rules.
  1. Engagement may be terminated by the Young Professional with 30 days’ notice or by paying one month’s remuneration.
  1. Engagement may be terminated with 30 days’ notice for reasons including:
  • Inability to perform assigned work.
  • Unsatisfactory quality of work.
  • Delay in achieving approved work plans.
  • Lack of honesty and integrity.
