NALSA Invites Applications for 13 Posts on Deputation Basis from Eligible Officers of Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, Autonomous Bodies and Statutory Bodies

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has issued a vacancy circular inviting applications to fill 13 posts across various administrative and legal categories on a deputation basis.

 

The circular issued seeks eligible government officers from Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, autonomous bodies, and statutory bodies to apply for the positions.

The vacancies span a range of pay levels under the 7th Central Pay Commission and cover the following positions:

 

  • Under Secretary (1 post)
  • Assistant Legal Aid Advisor (1 post)
  • Deputy Controller of Accounts (1 post)
  • Superintendent – Legal (1 post)
  • Superintendent – IT (1 post)
  • Assistant Accounts Officer (1 post)
  • Assistant Section Officer (1 post)
  • Assistant – Legal (2 posts)
  • Senior Secretariat Assistant (2 posts)
  • Stenographer Grade 'D' (1 post)
  • Assistant Librarian (1 post)

 

Senior-level posts such as Under Secretary, Assistant Legal Aid Advisor, and Deputy Controller of Accounts carry a pay scale of Level-11 (₹67,700–₹2,08,700), while mid-level positions including the Superintendents and Assistant Accounts Officer are placed at Level-8 (₹47,600–₹1,51,100). Entry-level roles such as Senior Secretariat Assistant and Stenographer Grade 'D' fall under Level-4 (₹25,500–₹81,100).

 

Candidates must be serving officers under the Central or State Government or equivalent bodies, either holding analogous posts on a regular basis or possessing the requisite years of service in feeder-grade positions. Educational requirements vary by role — legal posts generally require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law with relevant experience, the IT Superintendent post calls for a technical degree with experience in information or cyber security, and the Assistant Librarian position requires a degree in Library Science along with two years of professional library experience.

 

Fresh candidates, retired officials, and persons employed in the private sector are not eligible and their applications will not be entertained.

The deputation period will ordinarily not exceed three years, extendable subject to satisfactory performance, and will be governed by the age of superannuation as determined by the Government of India. The upper age limit for deputation is 56 years as of the application closing date for posts S. No. 4 to 11. Pay and allowances will be as per the 7th Central Pay Commission rates notified by the Central Government from time to time.
