Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Appointment of Chief Justices for Patna, Meghalaya and Manipur High Courts

 

The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on 11th September, 2025, has recommended the elevation of the following Judges as Chief Justices of the High Courts:

  1. Justice P.B. Bajanthri, Judge, Karnataka High Court – recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court (he is presently serving as Acting Chief Justice).

  2. Justice Soumen Sen, Judge, Calcutta High Court – recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.

  3. Justice M. Sunder, Judge, Madras High Court – recommended for appointment as Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, consequent upon the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice on 14th September, 2025.
