Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Justice Arun Palli as Chief Justice of J&K and Ladakh High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium on Saturday recommended the appointment of Justice Arun Palli, Judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Justice Palli was designated as a Senior Advocate on April 26, 2007. Prior to his elevation, he served as Amicus Curiae in several complex and high-stakes matters before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, addressing a wide range of legal issues before both Division and Full Benches. He also appeared before the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court, and conducted significant arguments in the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
He was elevated to the Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 28, 2013. Since May 31, 2023, Justice Palli has been serving as the Executive Chairman of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority. He was also nominated as a Member of the Governing Body of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on October 31, 2023, for a term of two years.
